Who he is
Dr. Md. Anwaruzzaman Azad comes to the Maldives from Bangladesh, where he is already IMPT's Regional Manager for Cox's Bazar, the country's long beach town on the Bay of Bengal. He launched the Cox's Bazar booking site in the summer of 2026 and has run it since.
He is no stranger to the islands either: he already has a restaurant and café partnership in the Maldives, so he knows the visitors, the islands and the people who look after them.
This week he is also a nominee at the Asian Travel and Tourism Awards 2026, presented by Communication of Bangladesh at Hotel Sea World, Cox's Bazar, on 6 November 2026. The photographs on this page are from the Global Brand Awards, Season 3, Sri Lanka Chapter, where he walked the red carpet and took the stage.

What a Country Partner owns
IMPT is a hotel booking platform with 8M+ hotels and apartments in 195 countries, and every booking funds verified climate projects. In each territory one Partner, ever, owns and runs IMPT locally. For the Maldives, that Partner is now Dr. Azad.
He owns impt.mv, the national booking site built on the full IMPT inventory. Every member he registers stays his wherever in the world they travel. Every booking they make, in the Maldives or anywhere else, counts for him and for the climate.
IMPT builds and runs the technology behind him: the site, the AI staff that answer guests around the clock, the dashboards and the marketing tools. His job is the one only a local can do: bring the Maldives, its hotels, its guesthouses and its travellers onto the platform.

What changes for travellers and hotels
Nothing you have to do differently. Search stays on impt.mv as before. What you now have is a Country Partner on the ground who answers for the Maldives, works with the resorts and guesthouses directly, and brings local knowledge to every atoll page on this site.
Hotel and guesthouse owners in the Maldives who want to be listed, featured or simply introduced to IMPT can now start with a conversation in their own time zone.
