Getting there
Contento Retreat is in the Malé area, about 2.7 km in a straight line from Velana International Airport on Hulhulé. Hulhumalé is joined to the airport island by road, and the Sinamalé Bridge links the airport side with Malé, so the transfer is short.
A city stay suits a first or last night around an international flight, or a base for ferries and speedboats out to the nearby local islands of North and South Malé atolls.
The nearest other stays in this guide are HolidayMakers Inn (on the same island block), Cozy 1BR apartment by beach partial ocean view (on the same island block) and Beach Palace (on the same island block). On a local island or in the city, stays this close share the same streets, beaches and ferry stops, which makes them easy to compare.

Contento Retreat averages 3.8 out of 5 across 19 reviews. A selection, quoted as written:
It was very pleasant stay in Maldives. Hotel staff are so friendly. I must give 10/10. Room was a bit small for a family with 2 kids but quite manageable.
Had booked through Agoda for later in March. I randomly called up today to reconfirm booking. To my surprise they said property is closed. Imagine the plight had one discovered this upon check in. Very unprofessional. Not even a iota of regret expressed by staff and owner. They simply said you seek refund! Recommend not to book here!
