Getting there
Fern Boquete Inn is in the Malé area, about 2.9 km in a straight line from Velana International Airport on Hulhulé. Hulhumalé is joined to the airport island by road, and the Sinamalé Bridge links the airport side with Malé, so the transfer is short.
A city stay suits a first or last night around an international flight, or a base for ferries and speedboats out to the nearby local islands of North and South Malé atolls.
The nearest other stays in this guide are Acacia Beach Hotel (on the same island block), Crown Arena (on the same island block) and Summer Home K 1 BHK Apartment (on the same island block). On a local island or in the city, stays this close share the same streets, beaches and ferry stops, which makes them easy to compare.

Fern Boquete Inn averages 3.7 out of 5 across 119 reviews. A selection, quoted as written:
Stayed here 2 nights with 6 days gap in between. The hotel is right in front of the beach! First night was pretty good, with good service (although pick up from airport was late). The room was decent sized and clean. Facilities expected were provided. Breakfast in the morning was good too. Later we came back after a few days for a second night which was 2/5 at best. The pick up was late again by over 40 mins. At the hotel, though I had requested for the same room, it was not available and was given the room next to it. It turned out to be smaller than the first one and so many things went wrong. The switches in the room weren't working, the TV wasn't working (later fixed), the double bed…
Stayed there twice before, rooms were clean and you got what you paid for. However on my 3rd trip I never got picked up from the airport so I was left waiting outside the airport for 12hrs, despite stating twice per email to be collected from the info desk. I previously had problems with their hotel-airport transfer as well that had me waiting an hour for pickup. The driver was also texting and driving both times that I used them before. No bueno. So the hotel is fine for a "B&B" style place to rest, but don't count on the hotel pickup to be dependable.
