I recently stayed at Marukab Plaza in Malé, Maldives, and it was a delightful experience. The cozy room, though compact, featured a wide window offering a charming view of the ocean and the vibrant yellow and blue buildings nearby. The tunnel-like paths bustling with daily life added a unique charm to the surroundings. The breakfast was satisfying, with a variety of options to start the day. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making the stay even more pleasant. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail truly stood out. Getting there
Marukab Plaza is in the Malé area, about 2.2 km in a straight line from Velana International Airport on Hulhulé. Hulhumalé is joined to the airport island by road, and the Sinamalé Bridge links the airport side with Malé, so the transfer is short.
A city stay suits a first or last night around an international flight, or a base for ferries and speedboats out to the nearby local islands of North and South Malé atolls.
The nearest other stays in this guide are Stay Smart Stay Central (on the same island block), Arrival View (on the same island block) and Amina Residency Luxury Stay (on the same island block). On a local island or in the city, stays this close share the same streets, beaches and ferry stops, which makes them easy to compare.

Marukab Plaza averages 4.2 out of 5 across 140 reviews. A selection, quoted as written:
The staff was friendly. The room was clean and spacious. They were up to expectations. The toilet was a little narrow. Overall we had a good night's sleep. Stay 1 night for transit to the next resort. Free transfer to and fro airport, where the rep picked us up. The hotel also helped liaise with the next resort for us. Breakfast was good.
I stayed here for 5 nights and had a great time. The room was clean, new, and comfy. Staff were really friendly. We were warmly welcomed from the airport to the hotel. Big thanks to Mr. Anshu, who served us well in the restaurant. Only small issue was that towels weren’t changed some nights. Other than that, it was a great stay.
