We stayed for 2 weeks at the Liyela Retreat, and we are already missing it! The place itself is really nice, I wouldn't even call it a "hotel" as it is so cozy and well decorated with a mixed mediterranean style that it feels like you are in your own holiday home. Our room was very spacious, super clean, with an amazing sea view facing the sunset side, one could not ask for more. The food is by far the best you can find in the island, we enjoyed trying almost everything on the menu and even if lunch and dinner were not included in our deal we ended up eating there almost every time. We booked a two day stay in Liyela retreat. They came to pick us up from the ferry terminal even though it was less than 5 mins to the hotel. We were offered a welcome drink and the lady at the reception explained everything about the hotel, packages it provides, breakfast time and some local guidance. The room was clean and spacious. The basic toiletries and water bottles were given. We had breakfast included in our package, so there was a option of around 5 different types of breakfast, so we had 4 different types of breakfast dishes as we were two of us staying there for two days. Best place in Maafushi to stay and to eat. Lovely sunset view from the rooftop and perfect place to relax. Thank you Lola and Shaffa for the wonderful time! The organization of the transfer from and to Male and the tour recommendations were also very helpful. Maafushi is a good place as a starting point for various tours and for divers. But we did not like the Bikini Beach as it was too crowded.
