I recently stayed at the Sunrise Beach Hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly; especially Aishworya who was welcoming and attentive. Check-in was smooth, and they even upgraded my room to an ocean-view suite, which was a pleasant surprise. The room itself was spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated, with a breathtaking balcony view of the beach. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the amenities—such as the high-speed Wi-Fi, and rainfall shower—added to the luxury. Overall, Sunrise Beach Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way.

The ceiling of the bathroom was moldy, which was quite unpleasant. Additionally, there was no telephone in the room to contact reception, so we had to physically go down each time we needed assistance, which was inconvenient. Only one receptionist throughout our stay came across as friendly. Upon arrival, the first thing one of the receptionists said—without even a proper greeting—was, “Do you guys have a booking?” I found this choice of words and tone inappropriate and unprofessional, especially as a first impression. Do not book your excursions through this hotel! My partner and I booked a ‘Half Day’ trip which included 3 snorkelling points and lunch on a sandbank. We were with 8 other people. When we left in the morning the weather was beautiful, however when we got to the first snorkelling point, it was windy, cold and pouring down rain. Our guide said ‘if the weather conditions continue we will have to go back to Maafushi’, we all understood because it was really bad conditions. After 30 minutes of waiting, the guide said we could start snorkelling, many of us were very uncomfortable because the weather hadn’t changed much, it was still harsh winds and rain.
